Druids

Druids are sorcerers with supernatural powers and with abilities to perform divination.

Druidism was an oral tradition but due to the rise of Christianity in Celtic regions, few Druids recorded their works and passed it on to the next generations. Druid magic are spells written and sent by the Gods and Goddesses. They are pure magic as it's acquired from the nature.

In olden times, young druids are sent to crawl into caves to be reborn into the light of day during the initiation. Now, they are taught how to harbor powers through technique and precision. After years of training, Druids can not only understand the will of the Gods but also communicate with them directly.

Druids are classified into 3 categories:

  1. Bards: Lowest level of Druids. They perform mediocre spells. But their main task is to record prophecies into Book of Druidism and historical battles. They are librarians and teachers.

  2. Vates: Mid-level of Druids. They too perform mediocre spells like the Bards. But they are above them, as they possess the power of fore-sight. Also known as Seers. They stay in isolation and meditate.

  3. Druids: Highest level of Druids. They are the strongest spell-casters. From wielding the elemental powers to necromancy. They too stay in isolation to gain more knowledge.

Druidism is different from witchcraft. Druids use the nature to cast their spells while witchcraft is Wiccan magic.

Druids in Fir Bolg, the fourth settlers of Ireland, were blood-thirsty priests and performed rituals that required human sacrifices. These priests were called Sagairt Bais.

Meanwhile, Druids of Tuatha De Danann, were more shaman-like and didn't perform human sacrifices.
